7 Free Ad Courses 2025
📜With certificates

Hi Marketer. This edition is a bit of a change-up.
Over the weekend, I found myself with a couple of free hours and decided to whip up an article about 7 free ad courses you can find online.
I figured it might be handy for those of you just diving into marketing or even for the seasoned pros looking to expand their knowledge.
And don't worry, you'll still receive your usual 3 ads breakdown this Thursday—this is just a little extra!

Here are your 7 Free Ad Courses for 2025
I've noticed a trend lately that might not reflect the entire marketing community, but it's definitely caught my attention.
More and more "agency owners" seem to be getting caught up in the YouTube guru hype.
Instead of taking advantage of the free certifications available from major platforms, they're spending all their money on these gurus.
I wanted to share some advice to help guide folks in the right direction before they empty their wallets.
When someone new to the agency world asks me where to start learning about ads—whether it's Google, Facebook, or any other platform—they're often surprised when I mention that Google and Meta offer FREE ad courses.
These courses not only teach you how to run ads on their platforms but also provide you with a certification from Google and Meta.
Why do people rush to pay YouTube gurus without first taking free courses and getting certified?
One of my biggest concerns with aspiring agency owners is their desire to own and operate an agency without fully understanding what it entails.
Many are willing to "learn" how to run a successful agency, but when I point out that this actually requires mastering the services they intend to offer, it often falls on deaf ears.
Let me be clear: if you're not willing to learn and become an expert in the service you're selling, you won't succeed.
You will likely become just another person who wasted money on a YouTube guru, hoping to become a millionaire, only to end up falling for cryptocurrency day trading scams.
To prove that I'm not just venting, here are some actual free courses offered by Google and Meta.
These courses will teach you how to run ads on their platforms and certify you as well:
Google:
I included these Google courses because understanding analytics and conversion tracking in Google Analytics, especially with Tag Manager, is essential for agencies.
This knowledge helps demonstrate value and ROI to clients, no matter what platform they use.
Facebook/Instagram:
This has literally everything you need to know about Facebook & Instagram marketing. Organic, paid, video, AI, etc.
Tiktok:
I included this one just to show that you really can just Google "[platform] ad certification/course/academy" and find a free set of courses FROM the actual platform for FREE.
Hubspot:
Finally, Hubspot Academy isn't platform-specific. But there are a TON of courses and certifications here ranging from inbound marketing to content marketing, and even email marketing and SEO.
ALL FREE.
Lastly, I'll say that there is a time and place for paid courses from other agency owners and experienced coaches.
But AFTER you do the research yourself and take some basic-level free certifications from actual platforms.
Creator courses are fine if you're looking to get deeper information but there isn't a need to start there.
One thing paid creator courses can teach you is how to run an agency from a business perspective. But 9x out of 10, executing the actual ads can be found in free courses.
